Real Housewives of the OC 12/30/08

This week's show left me fuming for some reason. My 3rd grader likes to watch this show with me and even she felt somewhat the same that I do. We both agreed that we DO NOT like the new girl Lynn! Ugh! What a beyotch. I just don't get her. As I said before, she tried too hard and her 18 year old daughter -- OMG!!! I would be embarrassed to have my daughter shown on national TV acting like she does. She acts like a spoiled brat (which she is) and acts like she is younger than her sister. Last night they showed Raquel's 18 year old birthday party and she was freaking out because her sister was wearing this really nice white dress which made her look fabulous. So of course, being the brat that Raquel is, she ordered her sister to take it off so she could wear it to her party. Okay, here's my thing. These women spent $1800 the other week on a couple of outfits at some store in South Coast Plaza. And there they are on the DAY OF Raquel's party going through mom's closet looking for a dress to wear. Don't you think on such a Special occasion that they would have bought some special dress to wear for that day and have already tried it on and knew what she was going to wear? I can't tell if these people really have O.C. money or are just trying to look like they have O.C. money. And the BMW that the husband bought for her was a used BMW. Okay, I know there is nothing wrong with a used BMW, but they are O.C. people and all that girl talked about from the time they introduced this family on the show is that dang BMW. I thought it was going to be more like my sweet 16 on MTV where they get brand new cars! The party they had for the girl looked BORING! It looked like her friends were either so uncomfortable for the cameras to see how they really act or that these people just came to the party to be on the show. Nobody talked and it just looked more like an obligation than them wanting to be there. Even Raquel's own sister didn't look like she wanted to be there!

Lynn just doesn't fit in to me. I look at their house and think it doesn't fit into the same type of lifestyle as the Coto housewives. Her house just looks older and re-habed, like her husband. I don't know what it is I just don't like Lynn. She is trying to hard. I guess they could not find any other Coto woman to be on the show.

As for Vicki and Jeana, I am sad that they are not as close as they used to be. I still LOVE Jeana and she is my favorite and I still cannot stand Vicki, but you can tell that they are not as close as they used to be. Tamra seems to be Vicki's new BFF. They sat next to each other at the restaurant and the went to Lake Havasu together and she wanted to go with Vicki to her insurance convention. They don't match as friends to me.

The scene where Vicki went with her daughter to give blood was upsetting to me. That is so typical Vicki to be proud of her daughter that she is giving blood and then taking credit for it! She was like, I gave you that blood through me and so I should get credit for this! UGH! How self-centered! Everything is about her! Then I guess that means that Mike, her ex-husband will get credit, too, huh? Whatever....

I cannot wait until next week's episode cause Lauri will be back for a little bit! Yeah, I like her. Even though she always talks about being a princess and deserving the lifestyle she now has. Her life is just more interesting and she seems more true to the heart kind of person than the other women.

Real Housewives of the O.C. 12/23/08

I am so happy that even though this is Christmas week, they are still airing new episodes of the Real Housewives of the O.C. This is one of my favorite shows! This week I am still yucked out with the new house wife Lynn or is it Lisa? I still can't remember her name, that's how much of an impression she leaves on me. I think she tries to hard to act young but she looks bad. MHO. She can't take Laurie's place...ever! I hope that they do periodic updates on Laurie and how she and George are doing with their family. I didn't really like this week's episode that much because it really showed the ladies partying and they get stupid when they get drunk. I wonder how they feel after they watch themselves acting so weird. Especially Tamra, she is like another person when she drinks. I felt sorry for Vickie this week with Jeana, bringing Frankie down to Lake Havasu, cause even though I don;t like her so much, I do agree that that was uncool of Jeana to do that. I cried a lot when I saw Gretchen calling her fiancee on the phone. Knowing that he has already passed away and then hearing his voice on the speaker phone when she talked to him it was very sad. You could hear the pain in his voice and it sounded like he was suffering.

The new housewives kids are brats, especially the older one. Talk about JEALOUSY! Wow! She is really bad! And since the new housewife admitted on air that she has a hard time saying "no" to her girls, it's not a wonder that they act like that.

Next week's show looks pretty good when they introduce the housewife to the other ladies. Looks like the claws will be out. And I can't wait to see Jo and Slade as they will be making an appearance on the show! Not to be missed!

The Real Housewives of the OC - 12/16/08

Well, tonight's episode I was ready for. My son usually has basketball practice at the same time the show comes on, but tonight we are in snow day mode so everything was canceled, including basketball practice. That means that my schedule is clear and I was able to watch it on time and from the beginning.

So tonight's episode was okay, not as exciting as previous episodes. I am on the fence about Gretchen. Not too sure about her, but I heard that her fiance passed away a couple of months ago and so that for some strange reason, seems to keep me intrigued to her story. Then tonight they introduced the new girl -- I can't even remember her name. Not too sure about her either. She doesn't seem to fit the O.C. housewife mold. She had the fake boobs and she exercises a lot, but she looks old. yes, she has a nice body, but she just looks old and her HAIR! Yikes! What's up with that? It looks so 80's. She needs to invest some of her husband's money in a CHI straightener or something. I don't really see a niche for her on this show. It's almost like they were desperate for another housewife to replace Laurie and so they asked Gretchen and she said, I have a friend....

I wish they would do more on Jeana. I really like her and want to see how her life moves on. I cannot stand Vicki. Her skin looks absolutely horrible for some reason this season and she seems to be even meaner than ever. I wonder if she is really like this in real life. I feel like her daughter is so much more compassionate than she is. I also feel like her husband gets so embarrassed with the things she does and says on camera that the look on his face is like he just can't believe that she just did what she did. I just don't like her and if she was a friend of mine in real life, I would have to move to another city!!

Well, next week it seems there will be more focus on Vicki and Jeana so let's see what will be in store for the Housewives during the week of Christmas.

12/16/08

Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters are my other two most favorite shows. Now these two shows I watch loyally every Sunday night. I feed my family early on Sunday night and make sure that all the dishes and everything I need to get done is done before 7:30 pm. Then I watch the end of Extreme Home Makeover (just to see the before and after part) cry a little and then hunker down with my fuzzy slippers and glass of wine, turn the TV on full blast in HDTV and turn off all the lights. My children know that unless their bleeding, choking, or dying, they are NOT to talk to me during my shows. LOL! I joke about it, but it's true. If they dare talk to me during my show I don't even respond and just ignore them. They get then hint when they don't see me move or say anything.

I don't really have that many shows that I watch consistently, but the Real Housewives series is one that I LOVE, especially the Orange County Housewives. I have watched New York and Atlanta, but I did not like it as much. I have to admit that I have not been watching the new season on schedule like I did last season. Instead of making sure I was home every Tuesday to watch I have been sliding and have watched most of this season's shows at the end of the week in re-runs. But at least I am still watching it in the current week. I just love the Orange County Housewives, though I have to admit that I loved the original housewives better than I do the ones they have now. Jeana is my absolute FAVORITE. She seems the most down-to-earth to me. Laurie was one of my favorites until she got married and now all she talks about is being a princess and about how her life is a dream come true and it just doesn't seem real to me. Vicki - I CANNOT stand. Tamra I am still on the fence about -- sometimes I like her and sometimes I don't. Gretchen seems like she is hamming it up for the cameras too much. JMHO.
