Wow, I am REALLY not liking this season of the Real Housewives of the O.C. for some strange reason. This bunch of housewives used to be my favorite, but now I am finding myself highly anticipating the upcoming season of the New York housewives probably because I am hoping that it will be a better season than this bogus one. When I watch this season I almost feel like the producers are MAKING everyone hang out with each other and be friends. They don't gel like the housewives of past seasons. And when they bring back past housewives like Laurie and Jo and Kimberly every once in a while I find I like those shows better cause it's like catching up with an old friend or two.
The tension with Lynne and Gretchen against Tamra, Vickie and Jeana is so evident that it makes me totally uncomfortable when I am watching the show. It's the same whenever they show Vickie and her husband Don. I feel so uncomfortable, more for him, because I always wonder what she is going to do to belittle the poor man in front of the nation.
Lynne does not belong on this show. She doesn't get along with any of the girls except Gretchen and for good reason because she and Gretchen were friends before the show. The other three ladies make her feel so unwanted and never have fully welcomed her. I think it is so catty and juvenile the way they sit there and roll their eyes whenever she says or does something. I mean I think she is WAY out there, but why ask her to come to Vegas with you if you don't like her! I would never invite someone to Vegas with me and my girlfriends if I couldn't even stand to have lunch or cocktails with her, but my gawd, a WHOLE weekend? It's so obvious that they are "making" them all be friends but I think it is counter productive to the show. It's too uncomfortable to watch.
And I feel sorry for Gretchen and her fiance, but I think it takes away so much of the glamour that these housewives have come to symbolize by showing him all sick and frail. It was another thing that I did not like to watch. I know it's Gretchen's reality, but it somehow does not match with the shows theme.
I am actually looking forward to the end of the season in the hopes that they will get new housewives for next season.
